LexisNexis Forges Alliance With VCE
To deliver cloud computing systems bundled with eDiscovery software
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 13, 2014 at 2:53 pmLexisNexis Legal & Professional, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. and a provider of content and technology solutions, announced an alliance with VCE Company, LLC (VCE) to provide litigation service bureaus and large law firms with a robust and cost-effective way to deploy their own cloud-based systems for handling large-scale electronic discovery projects.
VCE is in the development of converged infrastructure systems. Its Vblock Systems enable customers to reduce IT infrastructure costs and increase business performance by deploying an on-premise cloud computing system. Two electronic discovery software tools from LexisNexis – LAW PreDiscovery and Concordance Evolution – will be packaged with VCE’s VblockSystems.
LAW PreDiscovery is an electronic discovery software application from LexisNexis that offers litigation teams the ability to filter and cull non-responsive e-discovery and scanned documents before review. Concordance Evolution is the next generation of an installed enterprise review software product from LexisNexis that handles e-discovery management for cases of any size and is designed for large-scale, complex litigation.
“By offering LAW PreDiscovery and Concordance Evolution packaged with VCE Vblock Systems, we will enable our customers to diversify their e-discovery applications and accelerate the time to deployment of a cloud-based system,” said Matt Gillis, VP and MD of the litigation tools and professional services business, LexisNexis. “LexisNexis customers deploying this new bundled solution will only pay for the storage and software seats that they actually use, making it a cost-effective solution for large law firms and service bureaus.“
Vblock Systems integrate virtualization, compute, networking and storage technologies from Cisco, EMC and VMware into a single cloud-based converged infrastructure platform. The system is secure and is pre-integrated, pre-tested and pre-validated prior to deployment.
“Enterprises everywhere are looking to lower costs by modernizing their IT infrastructure for the cloud. VCE Vblock Systems provide a robust and flexible path to cloud computing, allowing customers to focus on adding business value, rather than managing disparate IT systems,” said Michael O’Hara, VP, strategic alliances, VCE. “With our Vblock Systems, LexisNexis can rapidly deploy its software to service bureaus and large law firms with minimal time to market, risk and costs.“
The new bundled solution will be sold by LexisNexis to litigation service bureaus and large law firms, two types of customers that are heavy users of hardware and software technologies designed to support the management of large electronic discovery projects.
LAW PreDiscovery and Concordance Evolution are parts of a suite of litigation management products that LexisNexis provides along the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). From data processing, review, analysis, production and presentation, it offers solutions and tools for litigators to confidently manage their case data and documents.
It helps its clients gain increased control of e-discovery and litigation management with flexible, integrated solutions for early data assessment, processing, review and chain of custody. Supporting the critical phases of the EDRM, LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer, LAW PreDiscovery, Concordance, Concordance Evolution, CaseMap, TextMap and Sanction software solutions work together for complete support of litigation management and can be offered in a hosted environment for the flexibility and support any case demands.
