Artec Updates EMA and Vstor Solutions, Introduces New SDK

Artec IT Solutions AG introduced new versions of its EMA solutions with operational and ease of management improvements.

Remote Administration: Artec Fully Managed Service
The company introduced fully managed service to administrate Artec solution. This option can be added to an existing or new maintenance contract. This service is a solution to combine cloud-like services within your own secure datacenter.

Improved Importer
The Importer version (4.0.0.438) provides functions like the auto save mode, which periodically creates backups of all running import projects, protecting you in the event of a system crash. We have also added the ability to select whether or not messages without date and time information should be imported. In combination with our time-stamp-based filter, this feature ensures that e-mails are imported a single time.

Other Innovations in Importer

Improved transfer of e-mails with a folder structure from one EMA or VSTOR to another by using the ZIP export and the importer.

Import of Lotus-Notes messages that are not assigned to any folder. This is important because Lotus Notes allows e-mails to be stored without assignment to a given folder.

Lotus Notes e-mail messages without a body element are now archived. For example, this could be a message generated as an internal read receipt.

Extended options of the enterprise importer plug ins are available in the standard importer too.

PST files containing unnamed folders are supported (generated from external ediscovery tools of certain vendors or other archive systems, for example).

New Kernel for Better Performance
A new version of the Artec OS Kernel used in EMA and VSTOR improves system stability and overall performance. To utilize the features, for once the company recommends rebooting the system after the software upgrade.

Improvements and Features

ZIP export allows exporting of entire folder structures along with messages.

The feature ‘Point in Time Recovery’ allows for recovery of File to Archive or VSTOR based backups at an exact point in time. To do so, search by archive time with the new option enabled.

Export of single-instance messages and documents can now be selected.

The document viewer can now be integrated with your custom solutions or CRM systems.

Plug ins for Lotus Domino for Linux 64 bit.

AGFEO PBX systems AS43 and ES 513 are now certified for Voice to Archive.

Compatibility with certain USB storage devices has been improved, so that they are now visible in the volume manager.

Compatibility of remote support with additional firewalls and proxy servers.

A new SDK is available which provides the ability to distribute data generated with the CSV export to other systems. This functionality allows users to analyze and share information provided by EMA or VSTOR with third party solutions.
