Quantum StorNext 5 Appliance Flash-Based
And now integrated into existing metadata appliances

The StorNext M445 SSD leverages flash technology to maximize the benefits of StorNext 5, the company’s completely re-architected solution optimized to deliverperformance and reliability in workflow environments. It raises the performance bar with a 7x boost in metadata operations.
A second new metadata appliance, the StorNext M660XL, offers greater capacity and scale with support for up to 5 billion files, compatibility with Apple Xsan, and integrated scale-out IP connectivity for Windows and Linux workstations.
In addition to introducing the two new metadata appliances, Quantum also announced that StorNext 5 is available to existing StorNext appliance users, enabling greater efficiencies in their media workflows. It provides optimized support for IP, NAS, SAN and cloud-based networks, up to 10x higher performance, native object storage and LTFS support, and 5x greater scale. Along with unparalleled speed and flexibility, StorNext 5 also enables access and cost-effective management of shared content in a 100% digital, end-to-end workflow.
StorNext 5 appliances are designed with modern digital workflows in mind. Because it serves as the underlying platform for fast sharing and moving content from ingest to archive and back, it is optimized to provide the flexibility, scale and performance required for the unique characteristics of video and other types of unstructured content in varying file sizes.
Current StorNext metadata appliance owners under service contract can receive a StorNext 5 upgrade for free.
