NTP Software Assigned Several Patents

NTP Software, Inc. has been granted a series of patents in the United States and abroad for a system and method of providing policy-based data management and control on NAS storage devices.

The award brings the number of patents granted to NTP Software in the U.S. to four, with patents pending for the remaining three applications in Europe and Australia.

The most-recently awarded patent (No. 8,549,654) joins a portfolio of innovation that includes:

• a system and method for user-driven data archiving (No. 8,386,439);
• encryption sentinel system and method (No. 8,347,359); and
• a system and method for determining true computer file type identity (No. 8,135,762).

The patents are an integral part of NTP Software’s platform-independent products that enable schools, government and corporate organizations to control compliance, access, quotas, and the lifespan of more than 20 million users’ stored files automatically.
