PHD Virtual/Unitrends: ReliableDR 3.3 Software

Automates recovery to meet SLAs.

PHD Virtual Technologies Inc. (a Unitrends company) announced the availability of ReliableDR 3.3, its DR solution that automates recovery to meet SLAs.

It includes compliance reporting, application testing and replication, as well as additional hardware storage support with automated failover and failback for Nimble Storage, Inc.‘s arrays. While storage solutions, flash technologies and algorithms provide virtualization and DR capabilities, the challenge users still face is that replication is not aware of applications, or even VMs. To fill that gap, this solution includes snapshots and replication for DR purposes.

PHD Virtual fills the gap in application-aware assurance by minimizing the difficulty and risk of configuring and testing failover and failback applications,” said Joe Noonan, senior product manager, PHD Virtual. “Without this technology, IT administrators can easily fall into a pattern of infrequent testing, increasing the risk of recovery failure in the event of an outage.

Leveraging the data processing capabilities of storage arrays, it guarantees that users can recover their applications by:

  • Verifying DR plans are up to date and meeting SLAs
  • Keeping multiple Certified Recovery Points for failover
  • Bringing application awareness to verification and recovery processes, ensuring that businesses can operate from a DR site
  • Automating failover and failback processes to ensure that recovery times are minimal

It is available. Formerly priced and packaged as a separate add-on, the storage module and storage replication capabilities are included in the ReliableDR Enterprise Edition at no charge.

PHD Virtual has also automated licensing and pay-per-use reporting for MSPs and CSPs. Enterprise licenses are available with the Recovery Management Suite.
