Tire Manufacturer Greenball Selects Paragon Software
For centralized backup and DR in virtual and physical environments
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 24, 2014 at 2:50 pmBackup and DR software developer Paragon Software Group (PSG) announced that its Paragon Protect & Restore (PPR) was selected by tire manufacturer Greenball Corp. for centralized backup and DR.
“We are very excited to welcome Greenball into the Paragon family,” said Tom Fedro, president, PSG. “In 2013, we introduced PPR as a flexible, cost-effective software solution that provides tight integration with Hypervisors for agentless backups, VM replication and seamless restore for virtual and physical operating environments all through a centralized, easy to use interface.“
PPR is an all-in-one software solution for backup and DR for virtual, physical and cloud environments offering protection for an organization’s entire IT infrastructure. The transparent backup administration stores backups according to company requirements and archives them to second-tier storage, e.g. the cloud or a remote office location. A central management console offers control of all backup policies, storage configurations, and retention policies.
“We have already seen great value from the efficiency we have gained using PPR,” said Ally Shieh, IT manager, Greenball. “For example; it only took us 30 minutes to clone a machine online at a remote location saving us time and resources.“
“We backed up a tower online and applied the image to new hardware,” said Hugo Arriola, desktop support analyst/junior, systems administrator, Greenball. “We can image seamlessly to new hardware by simply injecting the original drivers or new drivers into the new machine, and have new towers up and running with all the files, etc. in no time. Previously, we would have to set up new profiles, emails, printers, etc. The system has two video cards and monitors, the software kept the same layout of the desktop when it was restored on completely different hardware.“
PPR Key Features:
- Backup and recover physical and VMs from a centralized location.
- Store backups and replicas locally and archive to the cloud or other secondary storage destination.
- Restore VM backups and replicas quickly, to the same location or to a new location.
- Distribute the individual components of the PPR infrastructure to the locations within your network that make practical sense.
