Persistent Systems and Dell Partner

Persistent Systems Ltd, in software product and technology services and provider of rCloud, a cloud-based DR service, announced a partnership agreement with Dell, Inc., provider of AppAssure data protection software.

The agreement brings to market a complete, scalable DR solution that provides both on-site and cloud-based instant DR service without needing to rip and replace existing environments.

The integrated offer enables Dell AppAssure users to now leverage rCloud’s cloud-based DR platform for round-the-clock availability of their services, even in the case of entire site shutdowns. The combined solution complements both companies’ individual offerings, delivering a complete solution to rCloud and AppAssure customers.

The partnership solution harnesses the power of AppAssure which delivers performance and flexibility for Windows and Linux backups, with flexible replication and recovery options. AppAssure goes beyond backup by establishing an automated standard for data protection through technologies including TrueScale Architecture for data protection and data deduplication and compression.

rCloud 4 Universal Architecture with Instant Restore supports upload of changes to the system in a secure and proprietary format. Once received at the rCloud data center, backups are written as virtual disks that can be booted in the secure rCloud recovery environment for recovery.
