This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 31, 2013 at 2:50 pmElephantDrive, Inc., in device integrated cloud backup and storage, is proud to announce a new alliance with WD.
The partnership will incorporate a customized version of ElephantDrive’s cloud backup for NAS into the newly released WD My Cloud EX4 NAS devices, offering redundant and secure protection to businesses of all sizes across the globe.
This collaboration expands ElephantDrive’s roster of network storage partners, solidifying its position as the solution for direct backup from NAS to cloud.
“Our goal is to partner with the leading providers of on-premise storage solutions to make enabling cloud backup, storage, and sync as easy as possible,” said Michael Fisher, GM, ElephantDrive. “With WD, we’ve found an outstanding partner with global reach and a commitment to deliver the most advanced NAS devices.”
With the release of the My cloud EX4, WD is re-launching its network storage line. It was designed to compete with powerful network storage devices on the market and to provide solid data protection. Including cloud backup made sense for offsite redundancy, and the frictionless integration of the embedded ElephantDrive module allows for fast, simple set up.
What sets ElephantDrive apart in the online storage space is the focus on integrated partnerships and enabling cloud backup, storage, and sync directly from headless devices like NAS. This differentiated emphasis and technology suite has led to a solution set qualified for delivery alongside network storage devices.
The partnership offers simplicity, providing one program to store all important data from multiple devices on multiple platforms, and unifying the local and cloud storage experience. The service also offers administrative tools for versioning and archiving data, and the ability to access and share files anytime and anywhere, including on mobile devices.
For a limited time, new users can log in through their server’s administration interface, complete an application and receive 100GB of service free for the first year.
