Nedap Opts for Proact
For redundant NetApp storage system
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 24, 2013 at 2:57 pmNedap N.V., a manufacturer of technology solutions, signed an agreement with Proact IT Group AB for the delivery and deployment of a new storage environment, including 24×7 premium support.
This will provide Nedap with the flexibility and scalability for growth in data and performance over the next five years.
Tom Schneider, IT manager, Nedap, said: “We were not looking for a new supplier, but for a partner who, like Nedap, is focused on the long term. Proact has provided us with excellent advice, and we are looking forward to a great cooperation with a party that has proven experience and knowledge combined with a clear vision.”
The total solution delivered by Proact consists of a redundant NetApp storage system for both the production and the backup location. The data is replicated between the two locations, and application-consistent snapshots are taken in order to be able to recover and restore the data. A cost-effective and secure storage of various types of data from Nedap is thereby realised.
Unexpected growth through acquisitions or new applications, for example, can also be integrated into the overall environment by the latest version of NetApp’s OS. By purchasing the OnCommand Balance software, Nedap obtains an end-to-end insight into the capacity and performance characteristics. The IT department of Nedap can thereby proactively manage the IT infrastructure.
Lucas den Os, MD, Proact Benelux, said: “Nedap creates added-value with products that solve relevant problems. We are very proud to be able to make a basic contribution to the development of these products from the storage side. We look forward to a successful working relationship with Nedap.”
Proact provides the complete solution, including services and 24×7 NetApp support for the hardware and software.
