Asigra Achieves One Million Site Deployments
Half of them in past 12 months
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 19, 2013 at 2:34 pmAsigra Inc., a cloud backup, recovery and restore software provider since 1986, announced it has reached the one million customer site deployment milestone with nearly half of new installments produced in the past 12 months.
The 82% increase in customer adoption over the past 18 months was driven in part by rising volumes of data from social media, mobile computing and cloud-based applications and facilitated by Asigra’s global partner ecosystem of nearly one thousand MSPs, cloud service providers and VARs.
“Asigra addressed the challenges we were up against when looking for an effective multi-site solution for backup, restore and DR,” said Simon Bennett, information systems director at Pernod Ricard Europe. “In an effort to optimize the recovery of growing data volumes across physical, virtual and cloud-based data, we considered multiple backup vendors. Asigra and their longtime partner Backup Technology Ltd were the only vendors to provide a complete offering in this respect – delivering management, scalability and flexibility advantages over competitive solutions. Across the group we now protect over 60 terabytes of data in 20 locations including England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, Greece, Turkey, and France.”
“Since establishing our cloud backup services on Asigra Cloud Backup we have grown our customer base with enterprises such as FedEx, First Horizon Bank and Onyx Medical Corporation benefitting from this technology,” said Gayle Rose, CEO, EVS Corporation. “Asigra has continued to increase its footprint in the industry by remaining an innovator and producing industry firsts such as recovery-based pricing and integrated cloud-to-cloud backup among others. We applaud Asigra for their success in reaching this milestone.”
Asigra introduced its recovery-based pricing model in 2013, changing the way backup pricing is viewed in the market and resetting the discussion around data recovery. The company’s Recovery License Model gives IT professionals the ability to control backup and recovery costs, even as organizational data grows rapidly. With this approach, fees are based on a recovery performance score that is calculated over a 12-month period (every 6 months in the first year). A waiver is provided for the single largest recovery event in any licensing term and only successful recoveries are included in the calculations. This allows customers who recover less to pay less, and costs are capped so customers never pay to recover more than 25% of their data which provides predictable costs.
Asigra also introduced several product enhancements in 2013 with the rollout of version 12.2. New capabilities in the software include over a hundred new features across all spheres of functionality including cloud-to-cloud backup for Google Apps, single-pass backup of Microsoft apps (Exchange 2013 and SharePoint 2013), enhanced VDR functionality and new user interfaces. The new features in v12.2 build on Asigra’s promise of enabling recoveries from the core to beyond the edge of the enterprise.
Asigra received 14 notable awards and recognition in the first eight months of the year, including CRN Magazine‘s Five Star Partner Program Awards, CRN Magazine Channel Chiefs Award, Red Herring North American and Global 100, Talkin’ Cloud 100, Storage Magazine Product of the Year Finalist, Enterprise Storage Forum Top 10 Backup Appliances, CRN Magazine Coolest Cloud Storage Technologies, Business Solutions Best Channel Vendor for 2013, Backup Review‘s #1 Ranked Cloud Backup Enablers.
