Bolton & Menk Chooses Panzura Cloud Storage System

Panzura, Inc., a provider of cloud storage solutions, announced that Bolton & Menk, Inc., a company providing professional engineering services to municipalities, has chosen its Global Cloud Storage System to centralize its storage environment, provide LAN file access speeds for complex project management files, and deliver inherent data protection with cloud storage scalability and redundancy.

Bolton & Menk is an engineering company based in Mankato, MN, and its challenge is providing access to up to 50MB project management files generated in Newforma and other applications. The company operates 14 offices, where users share project data with programs such as AutoCAD Map & Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation & GeoPAK, ESRI ArcGIS, and Newforma. To date, the company has maintained a decentralized IT architecture, with remote offices accessing files on their own servers. The problem was no data consistency between offices.

Bolton & Menk chose Cloud Storage Controllers for nine of its offices with CAD users, providing a gateway to files stored centrally in the Amazon S3 cloud. Panzura implements a global file system that provides data protection and access with dynamic file locking, global deduplication, global snapshots, local caching and pinning, with military grade, FIPS 140-2 encryption.
