Securstore UK Ltd. welcomes SMBs, enterprises, IT service providers, and Symantec partners who have been affected by the BackupExec.Cloud shutdown, as reported on Symantec s website.

According to the message posted on the website, the service subscription will be discontinued (both new subscriptions and renewals) on January 6, 2014; and the service will be retired a year later on January 06, 2015. This grace period will allow customers to migrate their data to alternate cloud services.

This shutdown has been linked to the lack of mobile and content sharing features; and that the current software design cannot accommodate the addition of features that are being demanded by their customers, such as: sync, share and mobility. As a result, the company decided that it would be better off for everyone if the services were shut down. The decision to shut down this service is a part of an on-going re-organization drive.
