Veeam Cloud Provider Program Continues 100% Growth Y/Y

4,000 hosting, managed service and cloud service providers worldwide

Veeam Software, Inc. announced that the Veeam Cloud Provider (VCP) program continues to grow revenue at a year-over-year rate of 100+ percent, even faster than the overall growth of the company.

The VCP program offers monthly and perpetual licensing to meet the needs of hosting, managed service and cloud service providers.

Growth of the program has been fueled by ongoing product development, such as the recent release of Veeam Backup & Replication v7, which introduced capabilities to service providers, including:

  • Built-in WAN acceleration: up to 50x faster D2D2C (disk-to-disk-to-cloud) backup
  • GFS retention: configurable grandfather-father-son (GFS)  retention policies for backup archival
  • Self-service recovery and a RESTful API: for easy integration with service provider portals
  • Enhanced support for VMware vCloud Director: full visibility of vCD infrastructure and seamless backup and recovery of vApps and VMs
  • VirtualLab for Replicas: to streamline DR testing and put replicas to work (for training, troubleshooting, patch testing, etc.)
  • Pre-deployment analysis: to streamline onboarding of new clients

Veeam also recently introduced the Veeam Cloud Provider directory to connect service providers with more than 80,000 customers and 20,000 resellers around the world, many of which are looking to extend deployments of Veeam offsite. VCP service offerings include a place to store backups, host replicas and perform recoveries in the cloud.

The success of our VCP program is a testament to the accelerating demand for cloud-based services and the need for hosting and MSPs to safeguard their clients with modern data protection,” said Ratmir Timashev, CEO, Veeam. “Historically, the majority of our revenue from VCP licensing has been perpetual; however, we’re experiencing a strong increase in monthly rentals, so much so that rentals now account for 45% of our total VCP revenue. We’re meeting a critical need in the service provider industry and as a result, the VCP program now accounts for a notable percentage of our annual revenue.”

We view service providers as partners,” Timashev continued, “which is why we recently launched the VCP directory, which connects VCPs with customers and resellers looking for backup and DR in the cloud. We recently expanded the directory to include backup and DR-as-a-service, as well as hosted VMs protected by Veeam. Our partners’ success is critical to our success, and the expanded directory will help the entire ecosystem to grow.”

The VCP program currently has over 4,000 service provider participants worldwide. Monthly rental is available in more than 70 countries from more than 50 Veeam aggregators. Perpetual licenses, for long-term client contracts, are also available from thousands of Veeam resellers worldwide. Veeam also provides dedicated VCP support resources in all major regions worldwide, including North America, Latin America, AsiaPac, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The VCP program enables service providers to go to market with maximum differentiation and margin opportunity. Service providers can earn more revenue by offering a range of data protection and management services, raise customer satisfaction with stronger data protection and faster response time when VMs or data needs to be recovered, and reduce costs by streamlining daily management tasks.

As the No. 1 web hosting company in Europe and third in the world (Source: Netcraft), OVH.com also has a growing cloud business. It chose Veeam to provide backup, replication and recovery for its Virtual Private Server and Dedicated Cloud offerings. With the world’s largest datacenter (located in North America), OVH.com designs many of its own solutions, and that includes building its own physical servers. However, “we were not going to improvise building our own backup technology,” said Miroslaw Klaba, director of R&D, OVH.com. “Veeam is already proven and fits perfectly with our cloud offerings. We tested several others and chose Veeam for its high reliability.”

We found a solid partner in Veeam Software-the company understands virtualization and how cloud providers operate,” said Bennett Oprysa, CEO, BitCloud. “Because of Veeam we’re able to set ourselves apart from the competition. We are excited about the increased capabilities in Veeam Backup & Replication v7, and we know it will make our BC and DR solution even more competitive and appealing to clients.”

As cloud and managed services providers in the U.S., mindSHIFT Technologies partners with Veeam to help fulfill the BC and DR needs of its customers. “Our partnership with Veeam has allowed us to provide best-in-class data recovery services to our customers’ virtual infrastructures, whether at the customer premise or on mindSHIFT’s hybrid cloud infrastructure,” said Dave Paris, CTO mindSHIFT. “Additionally, we also leverage Veeam for complex moves of workloads across our datacenters, expediting the consolidation of our datacenter footprint with minimal customer impact.”

Veeam currently has over 20,000 ProPartners and more than 80,000 customers worldwide.
