Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s Office Chooses Alliance Storage Technologies

(ASTI) announces a customer win at Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s Office, official keeper of all court records for the Seventh Judicial Court of Sangamon County in Springfield, IL.
Multiple Plasmon Archive Appliance Elite libraries have been installed to meet their commitment to protect court documents and provide immediate data access for their constituents.
Sangamon County Circuit Clerk, Tony Libri consistently encourages advancement in the technology used in the Circuit Clerk’s Office. Therefore, when the need arose to change storage solutions for images, Clerk Libri was actively involved in defining the requirements for the new storage.
“We were looking for an archival storage solution that could meet our requirements: reliability, performance, cost-effectiveness, secure WORM protection, and easy integration with our imaging software,” said Debbie Cook, manager of information systems, the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk.
The integrated solution, consisting of ASTI’s NAS based Archive Appliance Elite with UDO optical media and RVI’s document imaging software, provide an integration with their JANO Justice Case Management System running on IBM iSeries servers.
With the new solution, the Circuit Clerk’s Office’s is securely archiving over one million newly generated documents each year on a scalable solution meeting their future storage needs along with the ten million existing documents originally stored on IBM 3995/3996 libraries. Additional benefits achieved include a reduction in user access time enabling users to retrieve court records withins, easily attaching new images to court records, quickly resolving inaccurate indexing, and replicating data to another geographical location in support of HA DR needs.

The Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s Office serves as the administrative arm of the Seventh Judicial Court of Sangamon County court system. The Circuit Clerk is responsible for keeping the official record in all proceedings that come before the Sangamon County Courts. The Circuit Clerk has financial as well administrative and managerial duties, including the collection and distribution of monies owed to the Court.
