TDK Purchases Two Entities of entrotech Via Subsidiary Magnecomp
For components of HDDs

TDK decided on this purchase for the further expansion and the competitive edge strengthening of its HDD product portfolio.
The HDD-related product manufacturing and sales companies subject to this acquisition handle vibration dampening materials attached to HDD head suspensions, as well as filters, sealants and other products for HDDs
The acquisition was accomplished via TDK’s subsidiary, Magnecomp Precision Technology Public Company Limited (MPT), a HDD drive suspension supplier.
The companies, entrotech and TDK also established a strategic partnership.
Under the agreement, effective October 11, TDK purchased two entrocomponent solutions companies, EntroComponent Solutions, LLC located in Chino, CA and EntroComponent Solutions Singapore Pte Ltd located in Singapore. Both companies specialize in the manufacture of polymer-centric components, essential to HDD.

TDK and entrotech, Inc. have also entered into a long-term, exclusive supply and development agreement.
“Since we started entrotech almost 13 years ago, our focus has been on developing innovations with molecules that stretch the boundaries of science and disrupt the marketplace,” said Jim McGuire, CEO, entrotech, which has been issued eleven patents and has 26 patents pending for technology and processes.

Among entrotech’s patented inventions is paint created and applied without solvents, eliminating the fumes and environmental impact of harsh chemicals. Lighter weight and more durable than traditional paints, entrotech’s film-based paint has been used on commercial aircraft by Boeing and on racecars by professional racing teams.
