Tandberg RDX Disk Cartridge at 2TB

Tandberg Data GmbH has introduced the first 2TB RDX data cartridge to its family of RDX data protection solutions.

This is the industry’s highest capacity RDX cartridge and increases maximum single RDX cartridge capacity by 33%.

“With our new 2TB RDX cartridge, Tandberg Data has greatly enhanced the RDX media design to meet the ever-increasing capacity demands of our customers, now and into the future,” said Hugo Bergmann, RDX product manager, Tandberg. “The new 2TB RDX cartridge, as with all Tandberg Data RDX media, is backward and forward compatible with all brands and generations of RDX drives.”

The cartridge benefits the entire ecosystem of complementary RDX solutions. For example, customers of the RDX QuikStation removable disk array now have the ability to increase the system’s online capacity from 12TB to 16TB. Users of the BizNAS NAS appliance, which provides off-site disaster protection and bare metal recovery when attached directly to an RDX QuikStor, can protect more data on fewer pieces of media with the 2TB cartridge.

The 2TB RDX cartridge, at €357 MSRP, is available through the company’s channel of distributor and reseller partners.

All RDX media ship with a three-year advance replacement warranty.
