Offers inline de-dupe and real-time capacity expansion to midsize enterprises.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 20, 2013 at 2:28 pmExablox Corp. announced its OneBlox scale-out storage and backup solution has been verified to work with Veeam Backup and Replication v7 software.
Veeam is a provider of data protection, replication, and virtualization management solutions for vSphere and Windows Server Hyper-V. The combination of Exablox and Veeam delivers inline de-dupe and encryption for virtualized environments. The collaboration delivers on Exablox’s promise to reimagine storage and offer a scale-out storage and backup solution to midsize enterprises.
Backup and de-dupe remain a challenge for SMBs who often lack the expertise to set up a backup solution. This solution, optimized for Veeam backup and replication, can be configured and running in less than five minutes to provide backup.
“With the recent release of Veeam Backup and Replication v7, Veeam introduced two new disruptive enterprise features – Built-In WAN Acceleration and Backup from Storage Snapshots – plus dozens of additional features that take Modern Data Protection to the next level,” said Doug Hazelman, VP of product strategy, Veeam. “When combined with Exablox’s OneBlox, users have a comprehensive scale-out storage solution for backup that’s built specifically for virtualized environments.”
The company delivers the flexibility for organizations to mix-and-match drive types (SATA and SAS) for performance and capacity within a single appliance or within a ring of multiple OneBlox. It allows organizations to purchase the storage capacity needed and then add any combination of drives at any time to meet growing demands and automatically pool the storage within the same global file system. Combined with OneBlox’s inline de-dupe, storage waste is minimized and organizations are able to maximize primary storage utilization.
“With Exablox’s powerful OneBlox architecture and its cloud-based management system, OneSystem, the days of complicated, expensive and siloed storage are over,” said Douglas Brockett, CEO, Exablox. “Organizations of all sizes can now affordably and easily install a comprehensive, cloud-managed, scale-out storage solution for Veeam environments. With zero configuration for growing backup environments and featuring all the benefits of Veeam’s and Exablox’s technology, our joint customers benefit from a truly scalable storage solution that offers complete backup and recovery, without requiring the expertise of managing an expensive complex legacy solution.“
