Bumi Here, There and Everywhere

BUMI Inc. (Backup My Info!) announced the availability of BUMI Here, There and Everywhere, three backup and recovery solutions designed to provide flexibility and scalability.

“BUMI Here, There and Everywhere give organizations the flexibility to create a comprehensive data backup and recovery strategy that suits their specific business needs,” said Jennifer Walzer, CEO, BUMI. “Whether clients want to maintain their backups within their own infrastructure or replicate to one or both of our data centers, we now have the capability to provide a best-in-class data protection and disaster recovery solution that fits their needs.”

The solutions provide the capability to backup, protect and restore data, all backed by BUMI engineering and support team.

BUMI Here includes software to create a private cloud for backup and recovery. It leverages existing IT infrastructure and provides control over backups and where they are stored. This solution is designed for organizations that need to keep backups in-house and have an additional site for replication. It includes setup, software, hardware, remote monitoring and support.

“BUMI Here allows us to retain control of our backups and where they are stored. We also have the peace of mind in knowing BUMI is proactively monitoring the backups on a daily basis and that their team is available to address any issues that may occur,” said Kevin Lewis, VP of technology, The Morét Group, an apparel design, sourcing and marketing company.

The software is installed on a dedicated server on The Morét Group s network and connects to a NAS device provided by BUMI. When a scheduled backup begins, data is transferred within The Morét Group’s own network to the server installed with the client software. After data reaches this server it is analyzed for any data blocks that have changed or are new since the last backup. Those data blocks are compressed and encrypted. The data is then transmitted over The Morét Group’s local network to the system server and stored in a compressed and encrypted format on the provided NAS. After the local backup is finished, the encrypted data is then replicated to one of the Group’s secondary offsite locations that also runs the BUMI system software.

BUMI There is a cloud backup and recovery solution leveraging the company’s data centers. It requires no onsite equipment, enabling organizations to off-load their backup operations to BUMI.

BUMI Everywhere is a hybrid cloud backup solution that combines in-house data protection with off-site replication, setup, remote monitoring and support. This solution is for organizations with large amounts of data who are looking for an onsite backup solution but also wish to replicate to an off-site third-party facility.
