This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 12, 2013 at 2:53 pmNuage Labs SAS, developer of cloud storage gateways, and Farpoint Ventures LLC, provider of venture finance and international sales and marketing outsourcing services, have entered into a three-year agreement to develop the AsiaPac market.
Under the agreement, Farpoint Ventures will act as an extension of Nuage’s sales and marketing team to recruit and sign distributors, VARs and systems integrators to resell Nuage’s cloud storage technology in Japan. Farpoint will also be responsible for technical support through its Tokyo office.
“Our service allows customers to profit from all the power of our unique mirroring feature, making it possible to store data simultaneously on multiple public or private clouds,” said Raphaël Nicoud, CEO, Nuage Labs. “Our gateway also offers transparent encryption of data before it is stored on the cloud, thus eliminating the risk of data falling into the wrong hands. Finally, our gateway offers protocol translation from legacy protocols allowing you to connect your existing legacy apps directly to the cloud with no modifications required.”
“More and more enterprises are moving data to the cloud in Asia,” said James Ryan, managing partner, Farpoint Ventures. “Nuage’s cloud Gateway allows them to take advantage of the cost saving of cloud storage while eliminating the security risks and cost of retrofitting old applications.”
Farpoint Ventures has secured a major Japanese electronics manufacturer as the first customer of the Nuage Labs Cloud Gateway in Japan.
