Aleratec: IDE/SATA Drive Duplicators and Sanitizers

Aleratec Inc. unveiled the HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA High-Speed family of duplicators/sanitizers.

Four models in the series handle the needs of business or organization, and support both IDE and SATA HDDs, unlike many high-performance HDD duplicators.

It allows IT professionals to perform sector-by-sector copies, including partition and boot sector information, from a single source HDD. For large-scale operations, the family includes high capacity duplicators/sanitizers that can clone up to 24 or sanitize 25 HDD drives at a time. The smallest model can duplicate up to five or sanitize up to six HDD drives simultaneously and is tailored for organizations with fewer SATA or IDE HDDs to process on a regular basis.

All units incorporate secure erase technology, a National Institute of Standards and Technology 800-88 accepted technique for purging HDDs. It also features ‘certified sanitization’, a credential given to products for which a forensic data recovery company has confirmed that all digital data stored on HDDs sanitized by the 7-pass overwrite of the device has been destroyed and meets the criteria set forth in NIST 800-88.
