Hitachi: Fiscal 2Q13 Financial Results (Period Ended September 2013
Hopes to reach $4.2 billion in storage in FY13, up 11% from FY12.

For the three months ending September 30, 2013, storage hardware (including disk array systems, etc.) of Hitachi represented revenue of ¥52.5 billion ($531 million) from ¥47.6 billion in the same period one year ago or a growth of 10%.
For the six months ending September 30, 2013, the figures are ¥94.2 billion and ¥100.7 million (+7%), for 2012 and 2013 respectively.
This time for storage solutions for HDS and Hitachi storage in Japan, the growth for this most recent quarter is more than that, 14%, from ¥91.0 billion to ¥104 billion, the growth percentage being the same for 6 month period (from ¥175 billion to ¥200 billion). But on a dollar basis, revenue are down 9% Y/Y at $1,051 million and HDS sales for the quarter decreased 3% Y/Y, with hardware representing around 50%, software 15% and services 35%..
By country, HDS Americas revenue from 2Q12 to 2Q13 decreased by 5% and APAC 10%, EMEA increased 5%.
HDS saw flat and declining revenue across its entire File and Content portfolio, and by double digit Y/Y, Content Plarform being flat and NAS declining single digits.
For first half of the year, HDS + Japan registered $2,023 million, down 8% for the same period one year ago.
On a yen basis, he company expects to reach ¥420 billion in this field for FY13 or up 11% compare to FY12.
