Spanning Cloud Apps, Inc., provider of SaaS data protection solutions and creators of Spanning Backup for Google Apps, announces the appointment of Jeff Erramouspe as CEO and president.
He has served as chief revenue officer at Spanning since joining the team in August 2012.

Charlie Wood, Spanning’s founder and former CEO, will become COB.

Erramouspe has led the Spanning sales and marketing team through substantial milestones, including tripling the number of paid seats installed since the beginning of the year, signing a distribution agreement with EMC Corporation and recently securing customers Netflix, Jawbone and Redfin. He has over 20 years of marketing and management experience in both entrepreneurial and Fortune 500 technology companies.

“I have absolute confidence in Jeff’s ability to take Spanning from where it is today to where we all want it to be in the coming years,” said Wood. “I’m looking forward to working with him in my new capacity as we begin to expand beyond the Google Apps market under his driven leadership.”

A serial entrepreneur, Wood’s passion lies in identifying emerging market opportunities and developing technologies. He appointed Erramouspe to fuel growth in the face of increasing demand for new solutions in the SaaS data protection market.

Under Wood’s leadership, Spanning has grown to support over 2,500 international customers. He led the development and launch of the highest-rated Google Apps backup product and raised $9 million in venture capital across two rounds of funding.

“Charlie has built an incredible team, and I am excited about the many opportunities for Spanning’s growth,” said Erramouspe. “While our Google Apps backup business has been growing dramatically, we will expand from a single product company and focus on additional opportunities to further accelerate our growth.”

Prior to Spanning, Erramouspe was president of Manticore Technology, provider of SaaS-based marketing automation solutions. He led the company through three years of revenue growth in the competitive marketing automation market. Additionally, he was the co-founder and CEO of Deepfile Corporation (now called StoredIQ) and the first VP marketing for Vignette Corporation.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at San Diego in management science.

A solution on the Google Apps Marketplace, Spanning Backup is a data protection product that provides full data recovery for the core Google Apps components. It provides backup and recovery of the complete Google Apps suite: Gmail, Drive, Sites, Calendar and Contacts.
