NewCloud Partnered With Dell AppAssure for Backup and DR Appliance
Mixing onsite and cloud backup
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 6, 2013 at 1:57 pmFor over four years, NewCloud Networks, Inc. has been a provider of cloud services to SMBs across the country.
In addition to offering virtualized services such as virtual servers, virtual desktops, white label cloud computing and cloud communications, it has partnered with AppAssure by Dell to provide backup and DR to their customers.
The backup and DR product is a solution consisting of an onsite appliance which backups the customer’s server(s) at pre-determined intervals. The appliance is capable of taking a backup every 5 minutes and the solution is granular to restore even a single file or email that may have been lost or accidentally deleted. In the event of a server damage or crash, the appliance acts as a replacement server, making it possible to restore server function in a matter of hours rather than days or weeks. Because statistics show that human error is the most common cause of server failure, the onsite backup and restore system itself is a value to the customer.
The DR component of the solution comes in the form of cloud backup from the appliance to the data center. The image from the backup appliance is transferred over the internet at daily intervals to the data center in the Denver Tech Center.
“Our data center is SOC 2 Type I compliant, redundant and located in a geographically safe area, making it possible for us to ensure the security and availability of our customers’ data in the event of a catastrophe,” says Sam Kumar, president, NewCloud.
If customers end up in a business-paralyzing situation such as fire, flood, earthquake, etc., they call the company to have a virtual instance of their server spun up from the data center in a matter of hours. For businesses relying on their data for day to day and/or revenue generating functions, the BDR solution proves ideal.
