Fusion-io Expands Relationship With Fujitsu Worldwide

To accelerate Primergy and Primequest servers

Fusion-io, Inc. has expanded its relationship with Fujitsu Ltd through a global purchase agreement that enables customers around the world to accelerate databases, virtualization and enterprise applications with its ioMemory flash for Fujitsu servers.

Providing acceleration for SQL Server, SAP HANA, Oracle databases and other business-critical enterprise applications, ioDrive2 server flash products built from the ioMemory architecture are available worldwide for Fujitsu customers. To provide flexibility for customers purchasing new solutions or interested in accelerating their current Fujitsu infrastructure, Fujitsu offers the ioDrive2 for integration in new or existing Primergy and Primequest servers.

Customers depend on Fujitsu server systems and solutions to power some of the most demanding applications in their datacenters. By offering Fusion-io, Fujitsu has the ideal complement to our core offering, delivering significant performance gains in scenarios ranging from VDI to complex database analytics,” said Uwe Neumeier, VP of global server sales, Fujitsu. “Fujitsu strives to continuously gain efficiency and effectiveness in datacenter environments, and being able to provide industry-leading acceleration from Fusion-io underlines our commitment to helping our customers gain a competitive edge in the market place.

Fujitsu products, solutions and services are available in more than 100 countries. Its mission-critical Primequest servers provide high-end server functionality with support for standard OSs such as Linux and Windows, as well as virtualized environments. Primequest servers offer the reliability of mainframe and Unix server systems, the performance of a supercomputer, and the flexibility of an open architecture. Energy-efficient Primergy x86 servers for Windows, Linux and virtualized environments offer a datacenter ecosystem with performance that helps enterprises operate more efficiently.

In powerful server systems such as the Primequest and Primergy servers, the ioDrive2 delivers low latency performance for enterprise applications. With a scalable architecture that extends server performance, the ioDrive2 reduces costly storage sprawl by accelerating data in the server where it is processed, further enhancing the value of Fujitsu server systems. In addition to industry application acceleration, self-healing and wear management features in ioMemory products provide predictive monitoring to ensure business-critical applications perform as expected.

bwin.party digital entertainment, plc , an online gaming company, added Fusion-io performance for its SQL Server database hosted on Primergy servers, noting that the Fujitsu system with Fusion-io delivered the most performance among all tested architectures. In addition to enhancing performance, Primergy servers also reduce capital and operational expenditures through virtualization and sophisticated system management functions with energy-efficient technology.

Fujitsu servers deliver trusted performance and reliability, and Fusion-io is proud to complement Fujitsu systems with Fusion ioMemory to accelerate all business-critical enterprise applications from databases to virtualization,” said Will Hall, Fusion-io VP of WW OEM and channel sales. “As enterprises around the world architect their IT systems to transform information into actionable insights in real time, the Fusion ioDrive2 accelerates Fujitsu customers’ most important applications with an easily integrated and scalable solution that is trusted by thousands of customers.

Fusion-io will be showcasing ioDrive2 performance for Fujitsu servers at the Fujitsu Forum in Munich, Germany from November 6-7, 2013.

Additional information on Fusion-io performance for Fujitsu servers is available in the white paper, Fujitsu Primergy Servers Performance Report on ioDrive2.
