Tech Data to Distribute Unitrends

Unitrends, Inc. announced that Tech Data Corporation has signed on to distribute its entire product portfolio of physical and virtual backup and recovery appliances to resellers nationwide.

The partnership is the latest milestone in Unitrends’ growing channel program.

With more than 40 years of experience in IT distribution, Tech Data provides a range of product lines, logistics capabilities and value-added services that enable resellers to support the technology needs of end users of all sizes, across all industries. Tech Data’s channel of resellers across the US have access to Unitrends Unified Data Protection offering, which includes Enterprise Backup, the company’s software-only backup and recovery virtual appliance, and Recovery Series, its family of scalable backup and recovery physical appliances.

Limited-Time Product Offer Kicks Off Strategic Partnership
To kick off the partnership, Unitrends and Tech Data are running a limited-time promotion for end users. Any company that purchases a Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) server from a Tech Data reseller will receive a free 5TB license of Enterprise Backup, worth $24,000 in value. The software comes preloaded on a USB drive – which is included inside the box.

In June of this year, Unitrends announced Unified Data Protection for the Cisco UCS, which combines the power of Enterprise Backup with Cisco’s integrated compute platform. This combination transforms data centers by bringing computing, networking, storage access and virtualization together with backup, archiving, instant recovery and DR in a single solution. With Enterprise Backup, companies receive enterprise, shrink-wrapped data protection for all UCS configuration elements, including IOS router configurations, CIMC configurations, firmware versions, and storage and fabric interconnect profiles.
