This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 22, 2013 at 2:02 pmNexenta Systems, Inc. highlighted the benefit and value it brings to virtual storage accelerator (VSA) strategies at VMworld Europe 2013, October 14 through 17 at the Fira Gran Via.
Nexenta has been certified as part of the Cisco Systems, Inc. and VMware, Inc. reference architecture program which provides a comprehensive environment with compute, networking, storage and virtualization functionality.
Nexenta allows for the ability to deploy the latest VDI solution which independent tests have shown give improvements in physical SAN data retrieval reduction of up to 38X, in SAN write I/O reduction of up to 2.5x and an outstanding 72% increase in VM density per host. Further detail on these results can be found in whitepaper co-developed with Cisco and VMware which include specifications on the reference architecture.
Nexenta’s VSA for VMware Horizon View and NexentaStor solutions integrate with VMware Horizon View, providing enhanced acceleration for storage infrastructure. This policy-driven, fast and scalability on-demand approach for VDI environments is easy to use, while delivering a lower TCO for both Desktop-as-a-Service and enterprise VDI infrastructures.
“The combination of VMware Horizon View and NexentaVSA provides a powerful solution to our customers that can increase performance and reduce costs,” said Erik Frieberg, VP, product marketing, end user computing, VMware. “Partnering with Nexenta allows our customers to improve the end-user experience without having to worry about underlying infrastructure.”
Nexenta also presented storage solutions at Dell, Inc.‘s booth.
“We are excited to be working with Cisco, Dell and VMware on such a powerful offering to the market,” said Bridget Warwick, CMO, Nexenta, “By delivering greater performance, Nexenta and its partners offer powerful value to enterprises, no matter what storage infrastructure they have deployed. The combination of View and VSA for Horizon View truly enables the promise of VDI.”
Nexenta has worked with and provided unified storage solutions for organizations in public and private sectors including; Schuberg Philis, Yale New Haven Hospital and Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, FL.
