Two Million IO/s Lab Result by Storage Switzerland
With infrastructure using Dell, Emulex, Brocade, Violin
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 8, 2013 at 2:27 pmA new standard is set for high performance in the data center, according to the results of a lab test by storage analyst firm Storage Switzerland LLC.
The firm will detail the findings of a lab test that confirms the claims of a four-company team that its storage infrastructure can deliver more than two million, 8KB, IO/s.
Lead analyst and Storage Switzerland founder George Crump’s testing shows that this performance is relevant in all data centers, even those that need modest performance. Crump also finds that because of the shared configuration generating this type of performance centers on the infrastructure, not just fast storage devices.
Dell, Emulex, Brocade and Violin provided the infrastructure used in the lab testing. The companies are teaming to put together an environment Crump feels was tuned not only for performance but also reality. A shared configuration resembles what most data centers require to support clustered environments like virtualization and databases.
Storage Switzerland was holding a live webinar on Oct. 1 to discuss the findings of the lab testing. Crump has also written an extensive lab report detailing the results of its test.
