System Fabric Works Launching FabricStorSSD, RDMA, 40GbE and IB Enabled RAID
Based on sTec s3000 SSD appliance.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 8, 2013 at 2:31 pmSystem Fabric Works, Inc. has added IB, 40GbE, and Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) to the sTec, Inc.‘s s3000 SSD appliance.
The s3000 storage appliance already provides high level of bandwidth, IO/s, and low latency using up to 48 SSDs. Adding faster interfaces breaks through the performance imposed by 10GbE on single-stream I/O. Adding RDMA increases efficiency and performance while reducing latency.
FabricStorSSD provide fast storage and reduces server loading for each read and write – allowing more processing within your existing infrastructure.
System Fabric Works is focused on improving the scalability, speed, and efficiency of fabric attached storage to maximize performance – reducing server CPU cycles that would otherwise be consumed by data movement and copies. As the number of servers increases, storage communication efficiency becomes critical in order to avoid bottlenecks.
In this environment, the key capability to achieve efficiency is data access that reaches directly from storage to applications – i.e., RDMA, the technology at the core of FabricStorSSD can be used by systems running Linux, Windows, or Oracle.
