Alibaba Buys Online Backup Firm Kanbox

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. will acquire cloud storage software Kanbox, which will collaborate with the user system and data applications of the buyer to jointly offer personal cloud service.

Both sides will interconnect their account systems in the future while CEO of Kanbox as well as former founder of Storm Codec and his teams will join in Alibaba.

Kanbox has recorded 15 million users since being launched in 2010, including more than 3 million mobile end users.
