Lifeboat to Distribute Intel Cache Acceleration Software
To its WW network of resellers and solution providers
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 3, 2013 at 3:13 pmLifeboat Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of Wayside Technology Group, Inc. and an international software distributor for virtualization and other technical products, will distribute Intel Cache Acceleration Software (CAS) to its worldwide network of resellers and solution providers.
Cache Acceleration Software works in conjunction with industry-standard SSD storage units to speed up existing software applications running on dedicated servers or VMs, whose performance is limited by input/output constraints.
Additionally, because of the current shortage of SSDs, Lifeboat will also offer resellers a supply of Intel SSDs to be sold in solution bundles in conjunction with Intel Cache Acceleration Software.
“We are delighted with the opportunities that Intel Cache Acceleration Software solutions afford our WW channel network,” said Dan Jamieson, VP and GM, Lifeboat. “Our reseller partners will see a tremendous upside with Intel CAS solutions – with great ROI for their customers and excellent opportunity for add-on storage sales and for ongoing customer engagement on application performance.”
“The Intel Cache Acceleration Software offers customers improved performance while preserving the current investment in software development and existing SSD storage,” said Jake Smith, GM of attached platform storage software, Intel Corporation. “With Lifeboat Distribution, Intel CAS will reach new markets to offer enterprise customers improved performance, seamless deployment and reduced costs.”
Any SSD supported by the Linux and Windows OSs will work with – and deliver the performance benefits of – Intel CAS. Lifeboat will have a supply of Intel 910 series, DC S3700 series and DC S3500 series drives for reseller to sell in defined solution bundles with Cache Acceleration Software.
Cache Acceleration Software will be promoted to resellers as part of Lifeboat’s World View software ecosystems.
