One Source Networks Offfers Backup-as-a-Service for Enterprises

Powered by CommVault Simpana

One Source Networks Inc. the cloud and managed services partner for large enterprises, announced Backup-as-a-Service, an enterprise offering that provides backup and retention capabilities, delivered via the cloud.

Ensuring that a business can continue to operate even after events such as a technology failure or a natural disaster, is one of the challenges facing enterprises. Traditional backup methods are CAPEX and OPEX intensive and ill-equipped to meet current and future storage and recovery requirements. The company has developed its BaaS offering to enable enterprises to overcome these obstacles, providing a managed solution that supplies required backup infrastructure, including file system and application backups, disk-based storage and off-site tape storage, as well as a recovery process. The offering is managed and backed by SLAs.

Data is growing exponentially – not just in volume, but in the critical role it plays in the enterprise every day,” stated Gina Nomellini, CMO, One Source Networks. “We have developed our Backup-as-a-Service offering to provide customers with peace of mind by ensuring that their business-critical information is always protected and easily accessible.

The company provides options to meet customer needs – from Internet-based backup to installation of a dedicated circuit with the appropriate bandwidth to accommodate larger backup requirements. It also offers a hybrid solution, managing an on-site appliance for the customer and adding further redundancy from the cloud. Full backups are made to disk and copied to tape off-site to meet DR objectives. The managed service provides recovery as well, including restoration of data.

The BaaS offering is powered by CommVault Simpana software, the data and information management platform. It helps service provider partners such as OSN accelerate the deployment of scalable services while improving SLAs, and reduces infrastructure and operational costs. The software unlocks the value of information across all current and historical data created by an organization – from servers to laptops, in data centers and clouds, while empowering users with self-service access, compliance search, data mining and reporting – all from a single platform.
