Legacy Electronics Receives CSA Group Certification
For SSDs and Canton, South Dakota facility
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 1, 2013 at 2:52 pmAs of September 17, 2013, Legacy Electronics, Inc.‘ SSD1000 series of SSDs, and the company’s Canton, South Dakota manufacturing facility are CSA Group certified.
Most SSD manufacturers, whether large or small, are not yet recognized as being CSA Group or UL safety certified, so Legacy Electronics is among the first.
Jason Engle, Legacy’s CEO, said: “Legacy Electronics recognizes the increasing imporance of this safety standard in our industry, especially as SSDs are incorporated in more diverse applications. We’re happy to have received our certificate of compliance this month.”
Legacy’s CTO, Cory Stoffers, added: “The CSA Group inspectors were courteous and professional. Because of our effective process controls and high manufacturing standards, meeting their requirements was gratifying.”
To receive CSA Group certification, Legacy Electronics passed both a facility audit and a destructive product test. Furthermore, the company is subject to quarterly, ‘unannounced’ CSA Group inspections.
The company offers a line of flash-based SSD products, and specializes in mSATA (MO-300A), half-slim (MO-297) and standard 2.5″ drives.
Headquartered in South Dakota, it is a U.S.-based, ISO 9001:2000-certified contract manufacturer, designer and tester of high-speed, high-density memory modules, PCBs, and other computer products. It holds several patents and trademarks, including those for its Canopy chip-stacking process technology, and its Multiple Device Canopy (MDC) for embedded computing and high-density VLP (very low profile) modules.
