Exar Signs Technology Partnership With Hortonworks

Exar Corporation announced a
technology partnership with Hortonworks,
Inc., commercial vendor promoting the innovation, development, and
support of Apache Hadoop.

As part of the agreement, Exar will become a member of the
Hortonworks Technology Partner Program, which was formed to accelerate the
growth of the Apache Hadoop ecosystem through technology collaboration,
technical support and joint testing.

"Exar has built a name for itself in
hardware-accelerated compression for big data, so it’s a natural progression to
join the Hadoop ecosystem through a leader such as Hortonworks," said
Jiebing Wang, VP of data management, Exar. "Our shared purpose is to help our customers
obtain business value from their data quickly and easily."

Exar currently sells its hardware-accelerated compression cards to large data
management OEMs. By working with Hortonworks, Exar can ensure the
support for Apache Hadoop enabling OEMs to offer customers hardware-accelerated
solutions for their Hadoop deployments.
