Fusion-io, Inc. announced that its ioFX workstation flash memory platform is available in the new HP ZBook
Mobile Workstation portfolio, which includes the workstation
Ultrabook.
The ioFX can now also be integrated into Z Desktop
Workstations through external Thunderbolt expansion chassis, in addition to
internal integration with HP Z Workstations featuring PCIe connectors.
"Whether on set or in a remote oil
field, professionals need to work with large datasets efficiently to deliver
results that keep projects moving forward on deadline," said Vincent
Brisebois, Fusion-io director of visual computing. "The Fusion ioFX helps maximize the potential of workstations, GPUs and
professional applications, and with HP’s new mobile workstations and Fusion-io
application acceleration, professionals in the field can now work as
efficiently as in a traditional office environment. Fusion-io is proud to
support HP’s continued leadership in engineering powerful workstations that
offer breakthrough application acceleration no matter where their work takes
them."
Based on the Fusion ioMemory application acceleration
platform, the ioFX accelerates the performance of professional applications,
workstations and graphics processing units with its architecture that
leverages flash as a memory to move beyond the performance limitations and
bottlenecks of disk drive systems and SSDs. Integrated into HP workstations
through PCIe and Thunderbolt, the ioFX delivers application
acceleration to workstation applications such as those from Adobe and
ASSIMILATE.
"Our workstation customers need thoroughly
tested and highly tuned solutions from partners they can trust," said
Jeff Wood, VP, WW product management, commercial solutions business unit, HP.
"By expanding our Z Family of
products and adding Thunderbolt support, along with the industry-leading Fusion
ioFX, HP Z Workstations can now deliver outstanding application acceleration
internally, as well as externally through a Thunderbolt expansion chassis,
providing our customers with flexible solutions that increase performance and
productivity."
The ioFX is available from HP.
