axle Video and Cache-A Join Forces

Cache-A Corporation, a manufacturer of LTO-tape archiving appliances for media and
entertainment, and axle Video, LLC, in media management, announced an integrated
solution combining media asset management for professional video and digital
media workflows.

The solution leverages Cache-A’s LTO-4, -5, and -6 archive appliances
and axle Video’s media management software and appliances. Details of the integration was presented at IBC 2013 at the Cache-A and axle stands.

The new, browser-based axle Video/Cache-A solution catalogs and tracks media
content over its lifecycle. Content can be annotated with customizable metadata
fields, then archived to, and retrieved from, a network-attached LTO-tape appliance, with a storage capacity in the hundreds of terabytes. The
solution leverages Cache-A’s support for LTFS LTO storage together
with axle’s front-end interface. It is notable for its simplicity
of installation, ease-of-use, and compatibility with NAS/SAN storage and OSs.
