For customers with collaboration of HGST, Seagate, Toshiba and WD
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 17, 2013 at 2:47 pmHammer plc, the storage
distributor and supplier for enterprise disk in Europe, has
introduced a ‘registered disk partner’ scheme for its customers.
Vendors HGST, Seagate, Toshiba and Western Digital have collaborated with
Hammer to form this scheme, giving customers a superior level of support to
complement Hammer’s disk portfolio.
Benefits of becoming a partner include access to advance replacement drives, integration and configuration services, early product and market updates,
engineering and ‘design-in’ support consultancy, priority stock allocation, and more.
The launch of the initiative comprises a Hammer Disk portal for customers to
glean more information on the four vendors and Hammer’s disk abilities, plus a
dedicated Hammer Disk Twitter page and YouTube channel to enhance customer
interaction and support further.
Nick Powling, GM for disk at Hammer, explains why the distributor is in the
best position to provide this resource to customers who have a particular focus
on disk: "We are proud to work so
closely with our four disk vendors and to have such strong relationships with
them – we are ideally placed as a distributor to bring together such strong
resource. As a focused disk distributor in Europe, and with the growing
diversity of both HDD and SSD products being released to suit different
applications, we recognised the need to enhance the information flow to our
partners."
He continues: "Our aim is to supply
the right drive for the right application every time, and to provide new and
existing customers with a true value-add experience that suits their needs.
With this initiative, we look forward to merging our disk vendors’ knowledge
with Hammer’s renowned capabilities to provide the ultimate disk offering."
Hammer offers over 1,000 models of disk drive (covering all tiers of workload
and performance from desktop to enterprise), has sold over 10 million drives
and has shipped over 10,000PB of disk capacity since the company was founded
in 1991.
Becoming a registered disk partner also gives customers the opportunity to win
one of 12 places on Hammer’s three-night Monaco Grand Prix trip in May
2014.
