Zerto Virtual Replication 3.0 Rolls Out Public, Hybrid and Private Cloud

Includes web browser management, specific failover tests and remote DR control.

Zerto
Inc.
made available its
Virtual Replication (ZVR) 3.0, a DR solution built for public,
private and hybrid clouds.

In addition to enterprise RPO and RTO,
simplicity and scalability – features of Zerto’s core technology – It
includes functionality for DR, data protection and workload migration
and mobility. It is a ‘software-defined DR’ offering; the
hypervisor-based replication solution decouples DR from storage
hardware.

Eliminates barriers to entry for
large-scale cloud adoption

Selected by a network of more than 100
cloud service providers, it enables production workloads to leverage
the benefits of hybrid and public clouds by automating the ongoing
management and maintenance of customer environments. Hybrid cloud –
with production workload mobility between private and public clouds –
is possible. As DR is an onramp for enterprises into the cloud, cloud
DR is a piece of CSP service offerings, and is driving cloud
adoption.

Features for Cloud
Service Providers Offering DR:

  • Single automated solution that
provides data protection and workload mobility both ‘to the cloud’
    and ‘in the cloud’
  • Zerto Cloud Manager manages
customer resources and service levels across physical locations and
    provides a single, centralized view.
  • Zerto Self-Service Portal
integrates into existing CSP portals to speed the availability of DR
services to customers with a 100% multi-tenant solution, so each
customer controls only their own workloads
  • Service profiles or SLA
Templates enable CSPs to define service offerings based on the
    recovery objectives of their customers

"Zerto has essentially
eliminated one of the last real barriers to wide-scale cloud
adoption, with simple, efficient data protection and recovery,
"
said Dante Orsini, SVP business development, iland
Interet Solutions Corporation
"iland Continuity cloud
Services, powered by Zerto, is cloud-based DR-as-a-service that
offers tremendous benefits to our customers and provides assurance
that their valuable information is safeguarded. It is architected in
a way that improves control over their DR strategy and boosts their
ability to quickly and easily recover applications and data on a
self-service basis.
"

Optimized for Virtualized
Datacenters
This is optimized for enterprise DR
that is 100% reliable, and virtual-aware recovery that is easy to
manage.

Features for Enterprise
Datacenters,
Private and Hybrid Clouds:

  • Single VMware vCenter Support:
DR for remote and branch office (ROBO) workloads
  • Recovery Validation: ZVR has the
capability to test a specific failover point before committing it,
    ensuring successful failover
  • Reporting: Adhere to
audit requirements with failover reports; additional reports for
    recovery resource planning and performance
  • Web-based management: Manage
from anywhere with a browser-based UI
  • Support of heterogeneous
    environments:
Different vSphere versions, different storage, or a
    combination of vCloud and vCenter

"Virtualized datacenter
environments have a different set of challenges from physical
environments, and it is important that solutions be tailored to
virtualized environments; if not, the DR solution that is in place
will undermine the benefits of virtualization,
" said Laura
DuBois, program VP, IDC storage systems. "ZVR, a leading hypervisor-based
replication solution, has an opportunity for success with enterprises
seeking replication solutions optimized for a virtualized datacenter
and the cloud, and ZVR 3.0 in particular is positioned well to meet
the recovery needs of virtual workloads of any size or type.
"

"Zerto has allowed our company
to drastically improve the way we protect our mission-critical
applications,
" said Mark Montagna, IT infrastructure manager, Philadelphia
Contributionship
. "ZVR 3.0 will build on the protection
and flexibility we already enjoy with Zerto, give us the scalability
and ease of use to keep our workloads safe, and give us the
confidence to eventually migrate our datacenter applications to the
cloud when and if that becomes a need for us.
