PhotoBox Selects Cleversafe Object-Storage

Cleversafe, Inc. announced that PhotoBox
Ltd, an European online digital photo sharing service, has
selected Cleversafe to meet its multi-PB data requirements.

Facing mounting storage costs and constant scaling challenges, PhotoBox needed
an alternative storage solution to help them meet their future growth and
business objectives. Evaluation criteria included: ability to easily scale to PB+
level; increased rack density and power efficiency; proven private cloud model;
use of commodity hardware; reliability and availability;
and ease of application integration with an S3 compatible interface.

found that Cleversafe had an exciting technology with a new approach to meet
our cost, quality, reliability, and scalability requirements," said

Cleversafe’s storage solution for PhotoBox faces its next big challenge this
summer, as 24 million PhotoBox members upload millions of summer vacation
photos each day. After testing, PhotoBox remains confident the
solution is ready to handle this peak workload, and they will begin to fill the
2.5PB storage solution.
