Vello CX Networking Systems Available Through EMC Select
Models CX4000 and CX16000
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 22, 2013 at 2:36 pmVello Systems, Inc., provider of
deployable software-defined infrastructure for matching system resources to
application requirements in cloud, big data and other critical enterprise
services, announced that the company’s CX networking system
(Vello CX4000 and Vello CX16000) is now available through the EMC Select program.
Through this program, customers can purchase an economical
latency-optimized networking solution, which is scalable for the most demanding
data center network environments. The EMC Select program helps customers acquire the required components that comprise an information
infrastructure.
Designed for mission-critical, high-performance applications, the
CX networking system, which is powered by the company’s application-aware
VellOS network OS, supports protocol-independent networking using open standard
networking hardware. VellOS and the CX networking system have seen
initial deployments by customers needing to roll out financial trading
applications in active/active data center environments where continuous
availability of applications and data is mandatory. Organizations seeking an
open, cost-effective standards-based solution to deliver bandwidth-on-demand
and continuous availability for today’s distributed and virtualized
application environment within and across multiple data centers can deploy the
Vello CX networking system to create a single, logical data
center that is independent of the underlying hardware mix.
"We are very pleased to be working
with EMC through the EMC Select program," said Karl May, CEO, Vello
Systems. "With the addition of the
Vello CX networking system, customers can benefit from a solution that delivers
to build highly flexible, cost-effective and continuously available
connectivity between storage clusters while reducing complexity."
"Our enterprise storage solutions
require ease of use, highest reliability and cost effectiveness in a networking
solution," said Pete Conway, COO, EMC enterprise storage division.
"The addition of the Vello CX
networking system to the EMC Select program expands EMC’s portfolio of
solutions for a robust, stable and HA enterprise network."
Vello CX networking system is qualified by EMC E-Lab for EMC VPLEX Metro, EMC
VMAX, EMC RecoverPoint, EMC Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF and SRDF/S),
EMC Open Replicator, EMC MirrorView and SAN Copy, and EMC VNX storage systems.
