Innovode Armor Encrypts Google Drive Data

Available for enterprise and domestic usage

A start-up company called Innovode Ltd. has released its first
commercial offering, Armor for Google
Drive
.

Armor is integrated with Google’s cloud
platform, enabling users to store and edit files directly in Google Drive. No client installation is
necessary and users can access and edit their protected files using the power
of Google Docs and Apps.

Since its introduction domestic and
corporate users have demanded encryption for Google Drive files. Security concerns
relating to user account breach, the proliferation of mobile devices in
organisations, inadvertent sharing of sensitive files and covert data gathering
have all been raised as good reasons. Armor addresses these concerns to provide
a solution that offers security without compromising usability.

Howard Snart, executive director, Innovode, explains: "Desktop encryption
solutions constrain the usefulness of files to the desktop. Armor is a cloud
based encryption solution that is fully integrated into Google Drive opening up serious use of
Google.
"

Peter Spellward, executive director,
Innovode, adds: "We really
wanted to produce something the market demanded and it feels great to bring it
to fruition. Armor enables all users, domestic and corporate to work in the
cloud with the same security comfort and usability they enjoy with on-premise
applications.
"

Armor for Google Drive is available for all Google
users through Google’s
Enterprise Market place
and the Chrome
Web Store
.
