RDX WORM Media Available From Tandberg

Tandberg Data GmbH announced the worldwide availability of RDX media with WORM (Write Once Read Many) functionality.

Combined with RDX WORM media, RDX removable disk systems, including RDX QuikStor and RDX QuikStation, now meet an expanded set of regulatory compliance requirements and are for use with a number of archiving applications.

Files stored on RDX WORM media cannot be modified or deleted and can be accessed and read without limitation. Data can be added to RDX WORM and existing files cannot be overwritten. With this new enhancement, RDX becomes the technology to replace magneto-optical drives, CDs and DVDs.

Compared to currently available optical media like CDs, DVDs or BluRay, RDX removable disk technology provides greater storage capacity. Tandberg Data offers RDX media with integrated WORM functionality in capacities of 320GB, 500GB and 1TB. All generations of RDX media and drives are compatible with each other.

Pricing and Availability
RDX WORM media is available via worldwide network of distributors and partners. Pricing starts at $196 or €151 for the 320GB media.

Range of RDX Solutions
Tandberg Data continues to develop RDX solutions. This removable storage system combines the advantages of tape-removability, portability and long archive life-with the benefits of disk-random access, performance and data reliability.
