Vital Support Systems Offers Backup-as-a-Service

Vital
Support Systems, parent company being TDS Hosted & Managed Services, LLC,  announced the availability of
Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS), built on EMC
Corporation‘s technology.

The BaaS offering uses cloud
infrastructure to backup customer data to a facility. It provides
clients an on-demand infrastructure that they don’t have to purchase,
configure or maintain.

service provider program to enable them to build a world-class, EMC
powered backup service for customers," said Michelle De
Hertogh, senior director, EMC global alliance and service provider marketing. "Fusing their data center facilities with EMC
storage technology and integrating the offering with EMC Avamar and
EMC RecoverPoint software neatly address the security concerns
expressed by many enterprise customers while keeping it simple to
access files stored locally or in the cloud."

Vital was also named a Silver EMC
Velocity service provider.

Vital, along with sister
companies VISI, Inc. and
OneNeck IT Services Corp., are part of TDS Hosted and Managed Services, LLC (TDS HMS), a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc..

The offering is managed out of TDS HMS tier 3 data centers. These data centers, which utilize EMC NAS
replication service, Avamar, and RecoverPoint to power BaaS,
provide redundancy and DR for customers.
