Hie
Electronics Inc. has launched a cloud-based archive
and backup service called TeraNimbus.
Launched on July 18, 2013 at the US Air
Force Regional Telepathology Transition Summit in San Antonio, TX, it
provides customers with public and private cloud-based premium
archive and backup services. It uses archive technology in its
storage architecture. The system uses patented technology for 50+
year data integrity. This same technology has previously only been
available to corporate and government agency clients as an onsite
offering.
"Launching TeraNimbus is a
significant milestone for both our company and our customers,"
said Patrick Humm, founder and president, Hie Electronics. "We
now have a premium public or private cloud-based option for archive
and backup that provides the same long-term data agnostic data
integrity as our regularly installed systems."
It can be customized based on the
requirements of the user and can be configured as an onsite private
cloud, hybrid cloud, or an offsite data-center-based cloud archive
and backup platform.
Benefits include:
- 100% data integrity.
- Access
through web enabled client.
- Deployed as account
specific drop box
- Premium service for
long-term backup and archiving with no data migrations.
- Storage architecture
built on Blu-ray technology, phase change, not magnetic.
- Longest life media
available (50+ years).
- Private, hybrid and
virtual cloud configurations available.
- Based
on customer needs – simple billing.
- TeraNimbus software
provides an easy interface.
- Flexible pricing
based on storage usage.
- Data center locations in several virtually disaster free locations.
- Meshed
communications backbone architecture for reliable network services.
"We are pleased to be able to
deploy this new offering with our TeraNimbus software that provides a
user-friendly interface to the client," added Humm.
"TeraNimbus will allow clients needing an archive and backup
solution to have a scalable premium offering that provides 50 plus
year data integrity, but more important, piece of mind that their
data is safe from migrations, de-duplication processes, degradation
and loss."
