Sans Digital Brings out 4U 80-Bay JBODs

Sans
Digital Inc. announced its high density 4U 80 bays SAS or SATA
drive, single or redundant controller 6G SAS rackmount JBOD
enclosures, AS480X6S
(single controller) and AS480X6R
(redundant dual controller).

Using 4TB HDDs, both bays support up to
320TB storage in 4U rack space, providing a solution for demand
of data storage.

Supported in various Windows and Linux distribution,
the high density, high disk count AccuSTOR 4U 80 bay SAS expander
models provides a solution for big data, Hadoop or data center
environment.

The operating expense to provide
performance and capacity storage to data center has always been
a challenge. Traditional HDDs front loaded rackmount storage has
limitation of number of drives installed on the unit. With this in
mind, both product are using top-loaded design to allow 80 HDDs,
while provide hot-swappable capacity. Compare to front loaded 4U 24
bays rackmount storage with 72TB storage, AS480X6S and AS480X6R
increase storage up to 380TB or 500% increase.

HDDs status LED are
located in the front of the unit for access. With dual 6G 24Gb SAS
channel support for single or dual SAS controller mode, both units
support various applications, such as JBOD storage for host computer,
in high availability DAS systems for Windows or Linux OSs, or
hardware RAID controller for RAID storage solutions. Both models
support non-RAID HBA or RAID controller from company like Areca,
ATTO, LSI, Intel and HP.

They both supports SATA and SAS,
3.5" and 2.5" form factor HDDs and SSDs. HDDs and
enclosure status is display in the front LEDs, LCD display and via
SES management to controller card. Build-in with removable modularize
dual redundant power supply, redundant cooling fan and field
replaceable backplane design. Zoning and enclosure management can be
done via RS232 or RJ45 network port.

The two solutions are available and
backed by 3-year limited warranty. AccuSTOR AS480X6S is a 4U 80 bay
single SAS/SATA to SAS expander controller, while AS480X6R build-in
with dual redundant controllers.
