Virtium TuffDrive SLC CF Cards for Embedded Systems

Virtium Technology, Inc., provider of storage and memory solutions for industrial embedded systems, announced its next-generation TuffDrive CF cards, which offer the capacity of 64GB and based on SLC NAND flash.

Designed to deliver storage technology advancements for applications that have not yet migrated to a serial interface, TuffDrive CF cards provide rugged solutions for a range of embedded systems that include PoS terminals, casino gaming, mobile monitoring devices, networking and industrial automation equipment.

Virtium TuffDrive CF cards are offered in commercial and industrial temperature configurations and meet MIL-810 standards for shock and vibration.
 
"There has been a misperception in the industry that, because other suppliers have exited the market either through EOL or industry consolidation, CompactFlash as a technology is no longer viable. That is absolutely not the case," said Gary Drossel, VP of product strategy, Virtium. "Industrial embedded systems are still integrating CF cards and our OEM partners have new software and functional requirements that are driving the need for higher performance and capacity.  Virtium’s TuffDrive CF will meet these requirements, and we envision supporting CompactFlash as long as the market demands it."
 
TuffDrive CF products are available in capacities from 128MB to 64GB, in both commercial (0° to 70°C) and industrial (-40° to 85°C) operating temperatures.
