ArCycle vmBackup is a fast and hypervisor-native solution that brings together backup and replication tools. It protects data in case of any outage, hardware failure, human mistake, or natural disaster; ensures performance and simplicity, and it will fit tight IT budgets.
Installing takes a few minutes due to its agentless architecture. vmBackup eliminates the downtime of virtual servers and hosted VMs. It delivers fast backup, instant recovery of both entire VMs and of individual files. As well as providing VM backup, it provides an incremental backup option. It stores only those blocks that have changed since the last backup operation and ensures a reduction of storage space requirements. ArCycle’s sandbox allows VMs to be run from an archive in an isolated environment for testing or troubleshooting, while the auto-testing feature with e-mail notifications verifies recoverability of existing archives.
With built-in replication, vmBackup copies VM data from ESXi (Hyper-V) servers to another host, providing a near-CDP solution. Replication is available in three modes: manual (performed once), regular (scheduled), and regular with cyclic snapshots.
ArCycle leverages Microsoft deduplication technology of Windows Server 2012 which remove repeated data from the backup. Thus, it reduces the amount of data stored on a disk drive and cuts down the storage hardware expenses.
Whether you have VMware or Hyper-V infrastructure, or a combination of both, ArCycle delivers support for the latest hypervisors releases, vSphere 5.1 and Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V. It supports their features and enables centralized management of VMware and Hyper-V VMs from a single management console. Storing VM data in the original to hypervisor file format, VMDK and VHD, it allows any third-party software to work with archives.
"Today we introduce our vmBackup solution that ensures 100% safety for your business. Understanding exactly how critical data is to you, we created this smart solution that is very simple to use. And our per-host license policy, which is independent of the CPU or VM number, makes it affordable," said Max Melkov, CEO, ArCycle. "Our solution will be available in three editions – Professional, Standard and we are offering a Free edition. Each edition has different features and capabilities to suit a range of environments and needs."
