Infortrend Upscales 16Gb FC RAIDs

With sTec SAS SSDs

Infortrend Technology, Inc. and sTec, Inc. announced that sTec s842 enterprise SAS SSDs are compatible and ready to provide performance to Infortrend’s 16G FC storage systems, enabling users to meet the requirements of mission-critical, throughput-intensive applications.

Built upon the EonStor DS G7i platform, Infortrends new 16G FC models provide a boost by doubling throughput and providing superior IO/s to its 8G predecessor, while sTecs s842 SSDs take capacity, performance and endurance to the next level. When integrated with Infortrends 16G FC models, sTecs next-generation s842 SAS SSDs can deliver end-to-end 4k random IO/s of 350k read and 150k write performances (by using 24 x sTec SAS SSDs.)

These performance levels, decreased latency and 30% less power usage from an all-SSD array are a choice for enterprises seeking a solution for time- and mission-critical applications such as those prevalent in HPC, telecommunications and in the financial sector.

"sTec continues to have a strong working relationship with Infortrend to provide solid-state storage solutions that deliver the performance and data reliability demanded by todays enterprise systems," said Bryan Chen, VP sales for Greater China, sTec. "The validated compatibility of Infortrend’s 16G FC storage with our SAS SSDs provides enterprises with the perfect choice to build ultra-fast and ultra-reliable storage systems to power their performance-demanding and mission-critical applications."

Thomas Kao, senior director of product planning, Infortrend, stated: "Infortrend’s 16G FC storage solutions were built to provide users with the highest possible performance, and by employing SSDs such as sTec’s SAS they can achieve just that. We fully appreciate the support from industry-leaders such as sTec in developing proven SSD solutions for high-performance storage solutions as it provides our users with the means to allow their 16G storage to reach its potential."
