Blancco Mobile Erasure Solution to Support KDDI Trade-in Program in Japan

Blancco Oy Ltd announced that its product for erasing data from smartphones and tablets has been selected by KDDI
Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company (OCT) for use in their
trade-in program.

The
TUEV-approved Blancco Mobile solution is already used by organizations to
eliminate the risk of costly data breaches and comply with standards and
regulations pertaining to data privacy.

Set to begin since June 27 in all au Shop(s) and some of its partner outlets all over
Japan, the trade-in program’s purpose is to help users switch to new phones and
make the transition secure and convenient.

Blancco Mobile is designed to securely erase a smartphone’s internal and
external memory. Restoring factory settings does not ensure that data is
permanently destroyed because data can still be recovered afterwards.
Mobile erases all user data such as emails, contacts and text
messages facilitating the safe reuse or resale of the phone. The software also
works with tablet computers. Mobile supports platforms such as iOS
(iPhones and iPads), Android phones and tablets, BlackBerry, Nokia, Symbian and Windows Mobile.
