The co-inventors are Michael Nelson, Alamo, CA, Hao Xu, Sunnyvale, CA, Daniel J. Scales, Mountain View, CA, and Matthew B. Amdur, Cambridge, MA.
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A virtualization technique, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, includes emulating the SCSI protocol to access a virtual SCSI storage device backed by a file stored on NAS."
The patent application was filed on March 26, 2012 (13/430,468).
