300% Growth in Revenue for Altaro in 1Q13

Altaro Software, developer of backup solutions for Hyper-V and file servers, announced its Hyper-V Backup v4.

Having recorded revenue growth of 300% for the product in Q1 2013 compared to the same quarter of last year, the company is set for another boost in revenues with the addition of major new features to their product.

The release introduces WAN acceleration, which increases file transfer speeds to offsite storage, while introducing item level restore for Exchange Server, enabling administrators to restore individual emails straight from their Exchange VM backups.

Local backup/restore performance has also seen improvements, while the ability to manage Hyper-V VM backups/restores remotely across Hyper-V Hosts and clusters make the product easier to scale with larger environments.

"Based on customer feedback, we’ve taken a big step by developing the product into a more mature backup solution for Hyper-V VMs. Keeping our renowned user experience intact, we’ve added multiple new capabilities to the product based on customer feedback. The response we received to the new version so far has exceeded our expectations," commented David Vella, CEO, Altaro.

Hyper-V is available in three editions:

• Standard Edition ($395 / €325 / £255): Most functionality with protection of up to five VMs
• Unlimited Edition ($585 / €495 / £390): All functionality for an unlimited number of VMs and supports clusters
• Free Edition: Protects up to two VMs and is offered as freeware
